Joining us musically is the beloved indie-folk duo known as The Mountain Goats (@mountain_goats). They’ve been making music since 1991 (the same year eTown was born) and we’re very excited to welcome them to the show for the first time.
Talented singer/songwriter Joe Sampson (@usetonaut), whose intimate, emotive songs have led to collaborations with Nathaniel Rateliff and others, comes for his first visit to eTown as well.
Plus we’ll share an inspiring eChievement Award story about a woman in Brownsville, TX who’s lending aid to migrant families in need, as they wait to seek asylum in America.

Joining us for the first time this week is Psychedelic Folk-Rock songwriter and producer Jonathan Wilson (@songsofjw). He’s an amazing musician, a sought after producer (Connor Oberst, Father John Misty, Dawes and many others...) as well as a proficient sideman (he spent two years on the road as part of Roger Waters’ touring band).
And back again for his 9th visit is the iconic and prolific Country/Americana singer-songwriter Steve Earle (@SteveEarle). He came to eTown to showcase his recent tribute album to the legendary Guy Clark.
Rounding things out is the winner our eChievement Award - Samir Lakhani, a young man who founded a humanitarian non-profit organization dedicated to improving sanitary conditions in developing countries.

(@JohnOates) His latest solo project 'Arkansas' is inspired by the music and legacy of the legendary Mississippi John Hurt and encompasses other artists and styles that represent the dawn of American popular music.
Also with us is Tennessee-based singer/songwriter Lilly Hiatt (@LillyHiatt1) (daughter of John Hiatt), who has become a fixture of the indie scene in Nashville.
And Nick sits down for a conversation with renowned author Helen Thorpe, whose latest work, ‘The Newcomers,’ is a powerful and moving account of how refugee teenagers, many of whom have left extremely dangerous situations in their homelands, come to America to learn a new language and a new culture, in the hopes of finding a new beginning.
